Pattaya Beaches

Pattaya's two main beaches are Pattaya Beach and Jomtien Beach. Both are popular with travelers and offer similar daytime activities and amenities. As the sun goes down, the area of Jomtien Beach has a much more family friendly atmosphere, while Pattaya Beach is the place to find the wild nightlife.

Pattaya Beach

This four kilometer stretch of sandy white beach is thriving. Sun worshipers and fun seekers come out in droves to claim spots along the beach, especially on the weekends. The Northern section of Pattaya Beach is a bit more refined than the central or southern parts. More high-end resorts, restaurants and shops are found in this area. The central and southern portions of Pattaya Beach are packed with bars, restaurants, and girls and the action never stops.

Jomtien Beach

Just south of Pattaya Beach is a six kilometer stretch of beach know as Jomtien. Jomtien Beach is quite developed, but a bit more spread out than Pattaya and certainly a lot quieter. Accomodations along Jomtien Beach range from budget to luxury. There are plenty of restaurants and shops, along with roaming beach vendors selling food, drink, jewlery, massage, and more. Jomtien Beach is a popular spot for water activities including windsurfing, parasailing, snorkeling, and swimming.

Naklua Beach

Naklua Beach is a lovely, quiet stretch of beach that neighbors Pattaya Beach to the north. The area is more residential than Pattaya and is comparatively undeveloped for travelers, but one still finds plenty choices for lodging and dining. Watersports are not as popular on Naklua Beach as they are on Jomtien Beach, though snorkeling and windsurfing outfitters can be found. This area is regarded as being more family friendly than Pattaya Beach.
